Allene Moore Tippitt

Allene Moore Tippitt, 89, of Blytheville, passed from this life Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at Heritage Square Nursing Center.

She was born in Pottsville, Arkansas, to Lester and Bertha (Smith) Grigsby, and was an area resident most of her life. Mrs. Tippitt liked to go fishing, was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Arkansas Razorback fan, and enjoyed gardening flowers. She was blessed with a "green thumb." According to her family, she could put a stick in the ground and it would grow. Mrs. Tippitt was of the Pentecostal faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Larry, Ricky and Donnie Moore; five brothers; and four sisters.

Survivors include a son, Jimmy Moore and his wife Debbie of Ash Flat;

Two daughters, Barbara Decker and husband Hugh of Blytheville, and Carolyn Bohannon and husband Jim of Heber Springs;

A brother, Orvie D. Grigsby and his wife Kay of Indiana;

Two daughters-in-law, Debbie (Collier) Moore and Jeanette Moore, both of Blytheville; and

Twelve grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Legacy Hospice and Heritage Square Nursing Center for the loving care of their mother.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6 at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Vincent officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5 at the funeral home.
