Billy Edward Russell, 77, of Joiner, died of heart failure on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, in Joiner.

Born Feb. 2, 1937, in Russellville, he was a retired Mata supervisor, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and a member of Joiner Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Dyess, a lifetime resident of Mississippi County and a 1956 graduate of Keiser High School.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Russell and Leta Ellison; and his wife, Mildred Hathcock.

Mr. Russell leaves four sons, Billy Russell of West Memphis, and Steve Russell, Neal Russell and Scott Russell, all of Bassett;

Two daughters, Ann Kilburn of Duck Hill, Mississippi, and Gail Ash of Holly Springs, Mississippi; and

Six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30 at Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola.

Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Bob Wheeler, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1 at Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola. Burial will follow at Bassett Cemetery.
