Mr. Charles Loyd Giles, 85, of Gosnell, passed away Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at the Manila Nursing Center.

Born Feb. 8, 1929, in Manila, he was the son of the late Leonard Vaden and Iva Lee Jolliff Giles. Mr. Giles was a past president of Blytheville Gideon's, a mason and a member of the Assembly of God Church. He was a farmer, later working for Pepsi Cola in Blytheville for 19 years before transferring to Dr. Pepper in Ft. Worth, Texas, then retiring from Coca-Cola in Wichita, Kansas. In his retirement, he loved to work on older models of John Deere tractors and collected antiques; he was a "picker."

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Henry, Hugh, and Frank Giles; infant brothers Vernel, Gene Dale, (twin brothers) Acie and Macie Giles; and sisters, Helen Cook, Lovie Hester and Betty Neuendorf.

He is survived by his daughter, Ruth Fears and husband Gary of Gosnell;

One brother, Max Larry Giles and wife Jan of Iowa;

One sister Norma Bowlin of Tennessee;

A brother-in-law, Carl Neuendorf of Michigan;

Four grandchildren, Lisa McMahon and husband Danny of Tennessee, Lori Weathers of Gosnell, Chris LaRue and wife Beth of Gosnell, and Rebecca Greenway and husband Marc of Gosnell;

Eleven great-grandchildren, Emma and Olivia McMahon, Cassie and Carrie Brooks, Kayliegh and Kenzie Tubbs, Dustin and Tucker LaRue, Caitlyn Smith, Maddie Grace and Avery Greenway; and

Several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28 at the Manila Cemetery with the Rev. Danny Rigney officiating. The family will receive visitors from 2 p.m. until the time of service at the Faith Funeral Service Chapel in Manila.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Manila Nursing Center for the loving care of their father and grandfather.
