Rivercrest's Demoine Brown runs for positive yardage Friday, Sept. 17, 2010 against Gosnell at the Cotton Patch in Wilson. The Colts went 15-0 that season, claiming the Class 3A state championship. Brown averaged 140.7 yards per game -- 82.7 on the ground. In the 14-10 state championship game victory over Harding Academy, the two-time all-stater was 4 for 7 for 52 yards passing, had 15 carries for 90 yards and a touchdown and, on defense, collected 5 tackles (2 for loss), deflected a pass and hauled in the game-clinching interception with less than a minute to play. For the season, Brown rushed 155 times for 1,240 yards and 17 touchdowns, while throwing for another 870 yards and 13 TDs to just three interceptions. Brown also led the basketball and track teams to state championships in their respective sports, earning four total state championships in his career.
