Leszek (Les) J. Kulinski

Leszek (Les) J. Kulinski, 56, of Blytheville, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014.

Les was born on Sept. 28, 1957, in Malbork, Poland, to Leokadia and Mieczyslaw Kulinski.

Les grew up in the Gdansk area of Poland and started working in the coal mines as a young man. He was involved in the human rights and communist resistance movements in Poland. He played a part in Poland's freedom from communism. In 1982, he married Maria Kasprowicz and had a daughter, M. Dominika Kulinski, in 1984. In 1985, the family moved to Seguin, Texas, and Les worked at SMI Metals, a steel mill company. In 1993, he moved to Blytheville to work for Nucor-Yamato Steel. While in Blytheville, he enjoyed taking flight lessons and worked on mechanical projects.

In 2001, Les re-married. He and his wife, Malgorzata, had a son, Robert Antoni Kulinski, in 2003. He greatly enjoyed roughhousing and playing with his son.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his two children, Dominika and Robert; and his brother, Krzysiek.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at Carney Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until service time. Father Joseph Felix will officiate.
