A winning idea for the city's parks

Friday, September 5, 2014

To the editor:

I read about the idea for matching grants from the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism. I believe it would be wise to put a tram or trolly, one from Williams Park to Franklin Park, and for tourism reasons, extend it down to Kentucky Street. At the parks, we could put in three-story parking garages to really lure in the tourism dollars when the fair or flea market is in town. We could get this done for $137,000,000, but the grant would give us half of this back.

After this project is completed, we could raise a special tax to put in rent-free strollers, a kiddie train and much more. Yes, I have visions of grandeur for the great excitement that we can truly enjoy when we see tourism coming from all parts of the earth to partake in our utopia village which we will have obtained.

P.S. If you think this sounds crazy, OK. I'm just trying to fit in and get my crazy check going.
