Ophelia Hardin Boyd

Ophelia "Pete" Hardin Boyd, 88, of Blytheville, passed from this life Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Ophelia was born in Dell, to Jack and Clara (Alley) Hardin. She was a beautician and owner/operator of Ophelia's Beauty Shop. She was also retired from the Blytheville Courier News. Ophelia was a member of the Gosnell E.H. Club, Delta Red Hat Club and a former member of the Dell Relay for Life. She was a member of Dell Baptist Church. She enjoyed needlepoint and cross-stitch. Ophelia entered numerous items in the Mississippi County Fair, where she won many blue ribbons and Best of Show awards. She was also a volunteer worker at the fair.

Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her parents; her son, William "Bill" Boyd; a brother, Louis Hardin; and a sister, Louise Lipford.

She is survived by her granddaughters, Lisa Willard and John of Blytheville, Lori Kay Farris of Florence, S.C., Beverly Hunt and Phillip, and Ashlee Boyd Lee and Cliff of Temple, Texas;

A sister, Juanita Goff of Blytheville;

Her daughter-in-law, Bobbie Kay Boyd of Temple, Texas; and

Twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the funeral home.
