E.J. "Eddie" Adams Sr.

Monday, August 11, 2014

E.J. "Eddie" Adams Sr., 82, of Sandridge, Ark., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, in Osceola.

Born on Nov. 25, 1931, in Memphis, to the late William and Ivah Adams, he was a member of Wardell Baptist Church (since 1954). Eddie was the youngest son of 12 children. His early adulthood saw him running draglines and machine shops, though he was probably best known for his years as owner/operator of Blytheville Bearing. He was a devoted Christian and nothing made him happier than helping people. He liked to be the first one in and the last one out of Wardell Baptist Church. He loved life, family, work and horses, and he claimed that we were all living in the "Good Ole Days" right now. His work ethic was unmatched and he left this world making it better.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, five sisters and one grandson, Ronnie Bennett Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Anne Goudeaux Adams of Sandridge;

Two sons, Mark Adams of Joiner and E.J. "Eddie" Adams Jr. (Sheri) of Sandridge;

One daughter, Sherrie Bennett of Sandridge;

Four grandchildren, Brooke Williams, Silas Edward Adams, Ethan Jennings Adams and Elijah Lane Adams;

Seven great-grandchildren, Briannah, Bailey, Schuyler, Eja, Legend, Gracie and Miranda;

One brother, Hugh Lynn Adams of Sandridge; and

A special friend and co-heart, Jimmy Brown of Bassett.

Visitation was Sunday at Roller-Swift Funeral Home Chapel in Osceola with the funeral service following. Burial was at Bassett Cemetery.

In memory of Mr. Adams, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
