Richard Gene Smith, 80, of Blytheville, passed from this life Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at his home.

Richard was born in Ripley, Miss., and was a resident of Blytheville most of his life. Richard was a retired crane operator for Nibco. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting and spending time in the great outdoors and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hines Smith and Rebecca Whitehead Smith; an infant son, Rickey; two brotherd, James V. Smith and Bobby Hines Smith; and a sister, Victoria Ray.

He is survived by his wife, Ella Faye Sinclair Smith of the home;

Three daughters, Rita Pratt and husband Ronald of Jonesboro, Lisa Gray and husband Donald of Cooter and Rachel Gall and husband Tom of Blytheville;

One son, Roger Smith of Blytheville;

Four grandchildren;

Three great-grandchildren; and

A sister, Vera Lou Mitchell of Memphis.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at the Dogwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Richard Lourcey officiating.
