Eugene Bruce

Retired CMSGT (chief master sergeant), United States Air Force, Eugene Bruce of Gosnell passed from this life on 3 August 2014 at the age of 75.

He served his country as a member of the USAF, culminating his service as the Blytheville Air Force Base senior enlisted adviser for the 97th Bombardment Wing Heavy, Strategic Air Command, 30 April 1984.

He also served as a minister within the Churches of Christ.

Born to Ollie and Sarah (Thompson) Bruce, he is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Wilson, W.H., Barton and Ralph.

He is survived by his wife Shirley;

His sons, Eugene (Theresa) and Rickey (Anita);

His daughter, Linda (Donnie);

His brothers, Edward and Carl;

His sisters, Juanita (Deloris) and Doris; and

His six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville, with graveside services officiated by Greg Groves at 2:30 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery.
