Donald Wayne Brooks, 58, of Manila, died Monday, July 28, 2014, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Manila he had been a lifelong resident and was a 1974 graduate of Manila High School and a second lieutenant in the R.O.T.C. program at Arkansas State University where he earned his bachelor of science degree. He had been a longtime employee of the former EIS Brake Manufacturing Company in Manila and was retired from Federal Warehouse in Manila. He was of the Pentecostal Faith.

He was preceded in death by one brother, James Brooks.

He is survived by his parents, Donnie and Peggy Brooks of Manila; and

One brother, Larry Wayne Brooks of Ranier, Ill.

He also leaves a special niece and nephew, Jimma and Jay Allen Brooks.

Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 31, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with the Rev. William Piercy officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at the funeral home in Manila.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Davis, Gary Sandbothe, Jason Yarbro, Larry "Pudge" Williams, James Skinner and Charles Jackson.
