Tyler Nelson Thompson, 22, of Columbus, Miss., passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014, in Columbus, Miss.

Mr. Thompson was born Aug. 31, 1991, in Blytheville, to Robert E. and Susan K. Thompson and moved to Columbus seven years ago. He was of the Baptist faith and worked as an operator for MSP. He loved to play the guitar (which was self-taught), baseball, skateboarding and BMX.

Mr. Thompson is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Cecil and Irene Thompson.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his father, Robert E. Thompson of West Point, Miss;

His mother, Susan Kay Nelson Thompson of Columbus;

His siblings, Mallory (Cade) Thompson Darby of Caledonia, Miss, Abbey (Joseph) Thompson Johnson of Cedar Bluff, Miss., and Conrad Thompson of Blytheville, AR;

His maternal grandparents, Richard V. Nelson of Blytheville and Patricia Ann Nelson of Knoxville, Tenn;

His nieces, Macy Darby and McKinley Johnson; and

His nephews, Jake Darby, Cody Darby and Tate Johnson.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Lowndes Funeral Home in Columbus, Miss. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 31 at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Eddie Brock officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Roberts, Justin Hopper, Jacob Hughes, Kyle Lacer, Brook Bowen and Brennan Bowen.
