Bobby Joe Battles

Mr. Bobby Joe Battles, 82, of Steele, Mo., died Thursday, June 19, 2014, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. Born to Elmer and Rubena Ford Battles in Armorel, he had been a lifelong resident and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Bobby was a farmer who loved to work. His parents and one brother, Jerry Battles, preceded him in death.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Marlene Frazer Battles of the home;

His children, Linda Crawford and her husband, Jim, of Steele, Brenda Allard and her husband, Joe, of Steele;

A brother, Elmer Battles, and his wife, Joyce, of Dexter, Mo.;

A sister, Peggy Sutton of Luxora;

A granddaughter, Kim Corkran, and husband, Matthew of Higginson, Ark.;

Three grandsons, Keith Allard of Hollister, Mo., Kyle Crawford of Steele, Dustin Crawford and his wife, Autumn, of Steele; and

Great-granddaughters Bethany, Jordan and Hannah Corkran and Molly Crawford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2014, in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Blytheville with Father Felix Chirapurathel officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele. Pallbearers will be Kyle Crawford, Dustin Crawford, Keith Allard, Matthew Corkran, Steve Battles and Josh Battles. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Sutton, Michael Sutton, David Battles, Terry Battles, Raymond DePriest, Mitchell Fisher, Kevin Still, Fred Austin and Gene Allard.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary commencing at 7 p.m., also at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.cobbfuneralhome.com
