James 'Jimmy' Hoy

Mr. James "Jimmy" Hoy, 82, of Blytheville, died Friday, May 30, 2014, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. He was born here and had been an employee of S.J. Cohen Construction Company and Chancellor Construction Company.

He was a member of Southside Church of Christ and worked in many capacities of the church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. James and Mrs. Ella Robinson Hoy; his sisters, Alberta, Annie, Essie, Trene and Dorothia; his brothers, Robert Otis, Odell and L.D.; and a cousin, Roosevelt Gillespie.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mattie Hoy of the home;

Three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy (and Danny) Manning of Blytheville, Ms. Lekesha Hoy of Memphis, and Ms. Natasha Hoy of Irving, Texas;

Two grandchildren, Derek Manning and Danielle Manning;

His sisters-in-law, Mrs. Arie Hoy, Mrs. Lula Burton and Ms. Louise Fair;

His brother, Carl Chambers; and

Nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Southside Church of Christ, 1201 S. Franklin Street in Blytheville, with Bro. Jesse Webb officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemane Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2014, at McDonald-Horne Funeral Home in Blytheville. Arrangements are by McDonald-Horne Funeral Home.
