Carroll Louis 'Crook' Tillman

Mr. Carroll Louis "Crook" Tillman, 74, of Heber Springs, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014. He was born Saturday, Jan. 6, 1940, in Tomato, Ark., to the late Louis and Cleo Mitchusson Tillman. Carroll was proud of his nickname "Crook". As a child he was called the marble king and was known to fudge a little bit when he played marbles. He had the largest bag of marbles that he won from others while shooting marbles.

Carroll served his county in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and after serving his enlistment in the Army he was a lifelong employee with Entergy. Carroll was of the Baptist faith.

Carroll is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Bynum "Sissy" Tillman of the home;

Two sons, Ronald Louis Tillman and his wife, Debbie, Gregory Dale Tillman and his wife, Jodi;

One brother, Gerald Edward Tillman of Luxora;

Three sisters, Opal Marsh of Hanover, Ind., Marilyn Tarosas of Chicago, Ill.,Linda Sherwood of Blytheville;

Eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and

Other relatives and many friends.
