Ms. April R. Hill, 44, of Blytheville, died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Northeast Arkansas Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

She was born in Cairo, Ill., the daughter of Arlester and Dorothy Knowles Coleman. After the death of her parents, she was adopted by Sonny and Claretha Hill. She was a 1988 graduate of Cairo High School. She continued her education at Five County Regional Adult Education Program and received a Certificate of Achievement in Nursing Assistant Training Program.

She served in the U.S. Army and worked as a Nurse's Aid in Ohio and Paducah, Ky. She also worked at Universal Manufacturing in Blytheville. She returned to Blytheville a few weeks ago because of illness.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Battles.

Ms. Hill leaves her son, Demareon Garvin of Cairo;

Four sisters, Maxcine (and Jessie) Davis of DuQuion, Ill., Rose Taylor of Milwaukee, Wisc., Linda (and Richard) Moore, and Brenda Holmes, all of Blytheville;

Six brothers, John (and Patricia) Battles, Bruce Ramsey and Arlester Hill of Blytheville, Walter (and Angie) Battles of Laverng, George "Dewayne" Ramsey of Milwaukee, and Lee Willie (Danielle) Ivy of Jackson; and

Nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, until the funeral services begin at noon at First Missionary Baptist Church on E. McHaney in Blytheville, the Rev. Odale Jones, Pastor. Rev. M.L. Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
