Werdna Slaughter

Ms. Werdna Slaughter, 73, Osceola, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014, in Osceola.

Born to the late Paul Hill and Minnie Louise Hill in Dyersburg, Tenn., she was a retired factory worker at American Greetings and a member of United Methodist Church Osceola.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Slaughter.

She leaves two daughters, Carmen (and John) Brewer of Caraway and Brigitte (and Jerry) Ketchell of Heflini, La.;

Three grandchildren, Kristen Brewer, Blair Green and Jonathan Alexander; and

Four great-grandchildren, Jaxsen Johnson, Runley Glenn, Jaysen Powers and Matthew Alexander.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home Osceola. The family received visitors from noon until the service. Burial will follow at Bassett Cemetery.
