Mrs. Alberta Rogers Daniel, 89, passed peacefully away Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

She was born July 28, 1924, in Delphos, Ohio, to the late William Frank Sherley and Dora Ann Cotterel Sherley. She was a member of the Black Water Baptist Church near Manila and enjoyed watching church on TV. She retired

from Angled Shirt Factory in Manila and had worked in a garment factory in Blytheville.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Milton Rogers and Leo Daniel; two daughters, Lilly Metcalf and Merle McCabe; a grandson, Allen Metcalf; three sisters; and a brother.

She is survived by two sons and their wives, William "Bill" and Lucetra Summitt Jr. of Horseshoe Bend and Odis and Pat Rogers of Palmetto, Fla.;

A daughter, Frances McLamore of Lawton, Mich.;

A brother and his wife, Charles and Virginia Sherley of Sulphur Rock;

Twenty-four grandchildren; and

Several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2014, at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Old Enterprise Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. Friday until time of service at the funeral home, 300 W. Matthews Ave, in Jonesboro.
