Mrs. Lena Wilma Green, 91, formerly of Blytheville, passed away on the morning of March 18, 2014, in Fayetteville, where she had lived with her daughter since 2010. After having a long and wonderful life with family and friends, she is now with the Lord.

Mrs. Green's church, Ridgecrest Baptist Church, in Blytheville, and her many friends, were always very important to her. Particularly, her neighbors were always very caring and made a point to visit her often.

She was a retired cafeteria worker at East Junior High School. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and loved gatherings with family and friends.

Mrs. Green was born in Thornton, Ark., in 1922. She was the daughter of Thomas and Wilma Threet Stell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Wesley Claude Green; and her youngest son, Gary Claude Green.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Melville and Wilma (Tootie) Ferrell of Fayetteville;

Her oldest son, James Green of Olive Branch, Miss.;

Eight loving grandchildren; and

One great-granddaughter.

Her grandchildren are John Green of Olive Branch, Miss., Lisa Williamson of Collierville, Tenn., Jennifer Manos of Rogers, Ark., Amy Melville Gortney of Seattle, Wash., Zack and Zebulen Ferrell of Fayetteville, Ark., Ashley Green and Wesley Green of Memphis.

Mrs. Green's great-granddaughter is Iris Gortney of Seattle, Wash.

Graveside services will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville at 11 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014. with the Rev. Greg Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville. Condolences may be expressed to the family at http://www.cobbfuneralhome.com
