Shirley Meacham Nimmo

Friday, March 7, 2014

Mrs. Shirley Meacham Nimmo, 61, of Blytheville, passed from this life Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Born in Blytheville to J.B. and Ova Dean Vassar Meacham, she was the former owner/operator of Shirley's Dispatch. She was of the Baptist faith.

Shirley was certainly a unique individual who loved life to its fullest. No matter where you were or what you were doing she used her special gift to make you laugh. Her smile was very contagious and her heart was always open to those in need. Sometimes all she could give was her laugh and smile but to know that she was on your side was priceless.

Shirley always loved to be the "life of the party" and have a good time. She knew she wasn't "perfect" but she also knew that nobody else was either. The serious side of Shirley displayed a woman of endurance, strength and courage. The way she faced dying showed her resiliency to make the best out of the bad. Shirley will be truly missed by all who knew her and had her as a wonderful part of their Life. Her parents and husband Randy Nimmo preceded her in death.

Shirley is survived by her mother, Ova Dean Bearden of Blytheville;

A daughter, Donna Renee Johns;

Her grandchildren, Morgan Dillon and Abigail Parker;

A brother, Monty Meacham, and his wife, Lisa, of Blytheville; and

Her niece Vanessa Boyd.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2014, in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Billy Holifield officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from noon until service time and Dogwood Cemetery will be her final place of rest. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.cobbfuneralhome.com
