Mr. Jimmie Sears Wages, 74, of Senatobia, Miss., passed away at his daughter's house in Jacksonville, Ark., on Tuesday afternoon, March 4, 2014. He was born Aug. 6, 1939, in Helena-West Helena to John Wesley and Rena Bell Powers Wages.

Mr. Wages served approximately 23 years in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He also had a career of over 20 years in Hospital Administration.

He loved his family! He loved reading his Bible and he was very active in his church at Highland Baptist Church in Senatobia. He enjoyed cooking and he had a great sense of humor. His favorite saying was "Just getting better looking every day!"

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 47 years, Billie Wages, who passed away in December 2009; and a son, Robert Wages.

He is survived by his son, Jim (and Deanna) Wages of Senatobia;

His daughter, Debbie (and Lou) Landry of Jacksonville, Ark.;

His grandchildren, Ashley Wages of Blytheville, Hannah Dial of Ojai Calif., Christen Houwen of Jacksonville, Jennifer Gilliam and Lawrence Combs of Moraine Ohio, Robert (and Jen) Stone of Gosnell, Tina Riggs of Jonesboro, and Jordan Richardson of Blytheville;

His nine (plus one on the way) great-grandchildren;

His sister, Peg Robertson of Paragould; and

Many nieces, nephews, and friends that loved him so much!

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Carney Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Sunset Memorial Gardens in West Helena with Bro. Greg Hurt officiating.
