Herbert Gale Downing

Mr. Herbert Gale Downing, 71, of West Memphis. passed away Monday afternoon, Mrch 3, 2014, at Broadway HealthCare Nursing Facility in West Memphis. He was born June 9, 1942, to Herbert Ray and Dorothy Mae Aycock Downing.

He was a resident of the nursing facility for many years. In earlier years he had his own land and loved farming! Later he was a truck driver and owned his own trucking company.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Betty Grimmett and Brenda Edwards; and one brother, Jimmy Downing.

He is survived by one daughter, Amy Sheffer of Newport;

A grandson, Dallion Sheffer of Judsonia;

A granddaughter, Alexis Sheffer of Judsonia;

One brother, Mike Downing, of West Memphis; and

One sister, Kaye Rozelle, of Muskogee, Okla.
