Sue Long Eubanks

Mrs. Sue Long Eubanks, 88, of Blytheville, was born in Corinth, Miss., and died peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at King's Daughters and Sons Assisted Living in Memphis.

Sue was an active member of First Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, class secretary, WMU, and served on numerous committees. Her life as a Christian was visible every day as she served God with faith, love and a humble spirit. It was these attributes that showed Sue as a devoted wife of 62 years to her beloved husband, Jesse, and as a mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, and friend to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jesse Lee Eubanks; her parents, Theodore B. and Lela Putt Long; a sister, Katherine L. Bingham; and brothers, Jack Long, Bill Long and Ralph Long.

Sue is survived by her daughter, Kathy Nelms, and son-in-Law, Richie L. Nelms, of Germantown, Tenn.;

Her grandchildren, Christopher Nelms of Nashville, Tenn., Lauren Nelms of Germantown, Tenn.;

A great-granddaughter, Peyton; and

A sister, Wanda Lee Doyle of Collierville, Tenn .

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church in Blytheville. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time, also at the church, with interment following funeral services at Elmwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Long, Scott Long, Lindy Long, Lance Long, Phil Long, Carl Jenkins, Christopher Nelms and Buddy Lane. Cobb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
