Mildred Francis Ferrell

Mrs. Mildrend Francis Ferrell, 78, of Steele, Mo., passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.

Mildred was born Sept. 2, 1935, in Blytheville, to Neoma and Harvey Cotton. She graduated from Gosnell High School in the 1950s and later united in marriage to Charles Ferrell Jr. of Steele. She was employed as a clerk in the Blytheville Public Schools until her retirement. Mildred was a very active member of First Baptist Church in Steele.

Preceding Mrs. Ferrell in death were here parents and brother, David Cotton.

She leaves behind her husband, Charles;

Four sisters, Charlotte (and Bill) Davis and Linda (and Ken) Kelly, Rheta Cotton and Regina (and Bruce) Crosby;

One brother, Larry (and Joyce) Cotton and;

Several nieces and nephews, a loving church family, many friends and relatives.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Steele with Brother Michael Funderburk conducting the services. Lorene Clark and Barbara Lollar provided the music. Burial followed at Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele. Pallbearers were John Spence, Don Rogers, Eddie Gilbert, Howard Burns, Brian Barley and Pete Brackin. John W. German Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
