Mamie Lee (Ford) Horton, 80, of Blytheville, passed from this life on Dec. 18, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

She was born on Nov. 11, 1933, the daughter of Tommy Willingham and Mary Willingham of Blytheville. She was united in holy matrimony to Otha Lee Horton, who preceded her in death.

She accepted Christ as her Savior long ago, and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Yarbro. She served in many areas of the church including president of the Pastor Aide Society, Sunday School teacher, superintendent of Sunday School, usher and cafeteria assistant.

Mamie was a kind loving person and very giving to others. She was a very hard worker and a good provider. She made sure that everyone was taken care of, even if it meant leaving herself out. Her heart was bigger than her chest. In addition to her church activities, she enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing board games, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She was simply, "The Best."

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three sons, Earnest Lee Ford, Larry Ford and Michael Anthony Ford; three daughters, Mary Ann Williams, Mazella Ford and Odessa Ford; and a brother, Milton Jackson.

She is survived by seven sons, A.J Ford, Jr. (Nekale) of Blytheville, Leo David Ford (Martha) of Blytheville, David Lee Ford of Blytheville, Clark Gable Ford (Kay) of Long Island, N.Y., Jamal Dawud'R Akram (Bessie) of Southhaven, Miss., Robert Louis Ford (Kimberly) of Little Rock and Rickey and Telisa Williams of Baltimore;

Three daughters, Jessie Beatrice Ford of Jonesboro, Diane Solis (George) of Blytheville and Debra Williams of Blytheville; and

A host of great-, great-grandchildren, nieces nephews and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Faith and Glory Church with the Rev. Adrian Poole officiating. Visitation will be from noon until service time. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery in Yarbro.

The repast will take place at Faith and Glory Church.
