Naomi Yarbrough Rutherford

Mrs. Naomi Yarbrough Rutherford, 92, of Bassett, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, in Osceola. Born Nov. 23, 1921, in Camden, she was a retired cafeteria administrator, a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist where she served on the Motherboard and the choir, and a member of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom Yarbrough and Emma James Yarbrough; her husband Willie Rutherford; and brothers Claudine Rutherford and Mordine Rutherford.

Mrs. Rutherford leaves nine daughters, Mary A. Williams of Chicago, Shirley Ann Malone and Dorothy J. Williams of Bassett, Lavern Osborne of Houston, Patsy White of Shreveport, Vorandol Stinyard of McGhee, Jacqueline Hunter of Marion, Coddie Buchanan of Luxora and Wyvonia Singleton of Blytheville;

Seven sons, Willie Louis Rutherford Jr. of Portland, Alphonso Rutherford of Palm Dale, Wendell Rutherford of Portland, Glendell Rutherford of Joliet, Osmund Rutherford of Bassett, Leonard Rutherford of Rock Hill and Humphrey Rutherford of Reston;

One sister, Ruthie Jackson of Pasedena; and

Forty-four grandchildren, 81 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Wilson. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Bryant Whitted, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Osceola. Burial will follow at Rivercrest Memorial Gardens in Marie.
