Earnest Leo Elrod

Mr. Earnest Leo Elrod, 80, of Osceola, died Thursday, October 17, 2013, in Osceola. Born July 17, 1933, to the late Dallas "Pete" Elrod and Redis Elrod, he was a retired bus driver and custodian, and was a member of Spear Lake Church of God. He would have been married for 58 years in November.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Sims and an infant sister, two brothers, A.Z. Elrod and Tony Elrod; and one granddaughter, Kim Elrod.

Mr Elrod leaves his wife, Rose Annie Elrod of Osceola;

Six daughters, Susan (and Roger) Kimery, Judy Jennings, Tammy (and Mike) Hamm and Jennifer Hall, all of Osceola, Betty (and Bobby) Hice of Luxora, and Norma (and Johnny) Truleove of Lepanto;

Two sons, Charles Elrod of Dyess and Jerry Elrod of Osceola;

Two sisters, Effie May Steen of Marked Tree and Martha (and Johnny) Richards of West Memphis; and

Fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home with Huey Meherg officiating. Burial followed at Garden Point Cemetery in Etowah.
