Mr. Jerry Stovall, 70, of Blytheville passed from this life Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Born in Gosnell to Robert Orr and Veola Lesley Stovall, he retired after 46 years with American Greetings where he was a stock finder. Jerry was a member of Cole Ridge Baptist Church. He liked to hunt, garden and "piddle." He was good at carpentry and electrical work so family members and neighbors would often call on him to help with their problems because he could fix anything. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially his "grand dog," who was very dear to him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William Doyle Stovall and Bobby Stovall.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Sanders Stovall of the home;

A son, Michael Stovall and wife, Jessica, of Florence, Ala.;

brothers, Buddy Stovall and wife, Shirley, of Osceola, L.E. Stovall and wife, Dot, of Fulton, Miss., Steve Stovall and wife, Charlotte of Augusta, Ark., Ronny Stovall and wife, Lisa, of Blytheville;

His father-in-law, John Dee Sanders of Blytheville;

A brother-in-law, Bill Sanders and wife, Judy, of Blytheville; and

A sister-in-law, Patricia Stovall of Augusta, Ark.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. An online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com.
