Howard E. Bowers

Howard E. Bowers, 75, born Aug. 28, 1938, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013.

A resident of Monette, he was a loyal retired employee of Creative Foods for 45 years and a member of Lake City Assembly of God Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Rennie Bowers; his wife of 43 years, Dorothy Baldwin Bowers; and his son, Thomas Edward "Tommy" Bowers.

Mr. Bowers is survived by his children, Karon Taylor of Monette, Terri Bowers of the home in Monette, Teresa Burnett of Lewisville, Texas, and Lesa Gio of Half Moon;

Nine grandchildren, Corey Edward Bowers, who was raised in his home, Kayla Matthis, Timothy Burnett, Jamie Herren, Sarah Wemberly, Michael Watson, Carla Bowers, Daniel Roach, Paul Roach and Tina Roach;

Seventeen great-grandchildren;

His sister, Mary Frances Murphy of Blytheville;

One nephew, Richard Lowery; and

One niece, Sharon Camburn.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Nick Fletcher officiating. Entombment will follow in Dogwood Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
