Mr. Frank Loyd Marret went to his heavenly home Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Heritage Pointe Senior Living Community. He was 97.

A beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and friend, Frank Marret was born Sept. 30, 1915, to the late Laura Etta Chappell and James Roy Marret.

Mr. Marret was a former deacon and active member of the Forrest Grove General Baptist Church at Cardwell, Mo.

Most of his life was spent as a cotton farmer in the Cardwell, Mo./Monette, Ark., areas. He was also an avid gardener and a true lover of nature. He loved to see things grow. Earlier in his life, he lived in Santa Ana, Calif., where he constructed aircraft for American forces in World War II. Mr. Marret moved to Cookeville and the Heritage Pointe Senior Living Community in June, 2007. He loved to laugh and never met a stranger. He lived a rich, full life and will be dearly missed.

His family includes three daughters and two sons-in-law, Patricia Farr Leonard of Cookeville, Karen and Robert Fain of Saint James City, Fla., Renee and Johnny Flanagan of Bonneau, S.C.

Nine grandchildren, Elizabeth Farr, Virginia Farr, Thomas Farr, Tige Fain, Dianna Fain, Saundra Williams, Suzanna D'Amaral, Prudence Chichester and John Flanagan;

Fourteen great-grandchildren; and

Eight great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Marret was married for 64 years to Playfair Coburn who preceded him in death in 2001. Being the sole survivor of his birth family, he was also preceded in death by, in addition to his parents, three brothers, John Eli Marret, Ray Marret, J. R. Marret; and two sisters, Mable Stewart and Faye Harrell; as well as two sons-in-law, Dr. Stephen Farr and Harry Leonard.

The family would like to express deep appreciation to the residents and caregivers of Heritage Pointe Senior Living Community where he spent many happy days surrounded by friendship and love.

The family is also grateful for the wonderful, loving care and companionship provided by Christina Mayberry, Kristin Shipley and Sara Bilyeu.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Greene County Memorial Gardens in Paragould. The Rev. William Piercy will officiate.

Pallbearers will be family members.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Frank Loyd Marret followed by a luncheon will also be held at Heritage Pointe Senior Living Community in Cookeville, Tenn., on Saturday, September 14, 2013.
