Nancy Ellen Salmons Thompson

Mrs. Nancy Ellen Salmons Thompson, 91, went to be with her Lord Monday, Aug. 26, 2013. She was born July 1, 1922 in Egypt, Ark., a daughter of James Looney Salmons and Annie Bell McGilvary Salmons. She was the widow of Robert Augustus Thompson. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and a member of Morrilton First Assembly of God.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Carl David; three brothers; three sisters; and one granddaughter.

She is survived by three sons, Robert W. (and Louise) Thompson of Westfield, Mass., Troy (and Jan) Thompson of Blytheville, and David (and Cathy) Thompson of Kirksey, Ky.;

Four daughters, Mary (and Robert) Velazquez of Morrilton, Betty (and Vic) Brown of Plumerville, Faye (and Ellery) May of Beebe, and Kay (and Stan) Thompson of Jackson, Mo.;

One sister, Connie Martin of Bryant;

Eighteen grandchildren;

Thirty-three great-grandchildren; and

One great-great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Harris Chapel with Pastor Joe Alzate officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday at Dogwood Cemetery in Blytheville. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Morrilton First Assembly of God. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
