Mr. Danny Robert McWilliams, 66, of Jonesboro passed away Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born July 17, 1947, in Blytheville to the late Odell and Wilodean Donner McWilliams. Danny retired from Kroger after 32 years. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1968-1969, was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Paralyzed Veterans of America. Danny loved hunting, fishing, riding his Harley, and most of all spending time and playing with all his grandchildren.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents; a grandchild, Stephen Robert McWilliams Jr; a son, James Daryl Ponder; a brother Bobby Lynn McWilliams; and a nephew, Jay Wesley McWilliams.

Survivors include his wife Helen (Fleming) Ponder-McWilliams;

Two sons, Stephen Robert (and Rachel) McWilliams of Byron, Ga., and Kirk Dewayne (and Kathy) Ponder of Wynne;

A daughter, Gwendolyn Marie (and Beri) Platz of Hawkinsville, Ga.;

One nephew, James David (and Amber) McWilliams of Jonesboro;

Twenty-two grandchildren; and

Six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro, with memorial service beginning at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jack Vu officiating.
