Jimmy Ray 'Hardrock' Henry

Saturday, July 6, 2013

Mr. Jimmy Ray "Hardrock" Henry, 69, of Manila, passed from this life and found eternal peace while at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro Thursday, July 4, 2013. He was the second son born to Floyd and Frankie Morris Henry and had called Manila home for 69 years. His hands are at rest after being a hard worker and provider for his family. He was a 1962 graduate of Manila High School, and proudly served his community, devoting over 20 years of service with the Manila Volunteer Fire Department.

He greeted everyone with a smile, and had a joke or prank ready at a moment's notice. Jimmy loved hunting, gardening, and working on the building at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a longtime member. Jimmy has been reunited with his parents, and brother, Lonnie Dale Henry as well as many special friends who have preceded him in death. He met and began spoiling two unborn grandchildren at Heaven's Gate.

Jimmy leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 45 years, Pamela Jolliff Henry. He truly enjoyed the life they had made together.

Blessed to call him Daddy are Anita Kaye Henry Cole and Jimmie Marie Henry Puckett, both of Manila. He had the gentlest heart while raising his daughters. He taught them everything from how to drive, to how to love and show compassion to others.

If anyone would give him a moment, Jimmy would sing the praises of his three grandsons, Ryan Tyler Cole, Connor Jacob Cole and Christopher Ethan Ray Puckett, all of Manila. Grieving the loss of their brother are Floyd Eugene Henry of Corpus Christie, Texas, Rick Henry of Manila, and Bonnie Mary Sue Beal of Rector.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with the Rev. Eddie Hawkins and the Rev. Ray Dill officiating. Jimmy's soul is with the Lord and his body will be laid to rest in Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be members of the Manila Volunteer Fire Department, active and retired, and Arkansas State Trooper, C-32.
