Jewel Mae Smothers Hardin

Mrs. Jewel Mae Smothers Hardin, 84, of Marked Tree, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Three Rivers Nursing Home in Marked Tree. Born May 20, 1929, in Lepanto, she was a homemaker and a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Smothers and Bessie Smothers; her husbands, A.C. Hardin Jr., Gordon Manley and Fletcher Heath; her daughter, Jewel Ann Adaire; her step-son, Scotty Hardin; and brothers C.T. Smothers, William Smothers, Bud Smothers, Sam Smothers, Jimmy Smothers, Tom Smothers and Doug Smothers.

Mrs. Hardin leaves her children, Connie and Brian Gill of Tyronza, Sharron Farmer of Earle, Brenda and Paul O'Brian of Fort Worth, Texas, Judy and Daryl Hooks of Houston, Texas, Sherry Heath of Lamarque, Randy and Dorthy Heath of Parkin, Tommy and Rose Heath of Springdale, Lily Holt of Missouri, David Hardin of Marked Tree, and Monty, Marty and Jody Hardin of West Memphis;

One sister, Lena Reed of Muscantine; and

A host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home of Tyronza. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will follow at Marked Tree Cemetery.
