Bertha Lee LaRue Wood

Bertha Lee LaRue Wood, 71, of Osceola, died of cancer Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at South Mississippi County Medical Center in Osceola. Born June 21, 1941, in Bassett, she was a retired secretary and a member of First United Methodist Church of Osceola.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Wyatt and Fannie Lou Green LaRue; her sisters, Betty Jane LaRue and Mildred LaRue Smith; and brothers Curtis Wyatt LaRue and Lee Edward LaRue.

Mrs. Wood leaves her husband, Clifford Wood of Osceola;

One daughter, Kerrie Leigh Wood Kelley of Osceola;

One son, Cliff (and Clista Jo) Wood of Marion;

One sister, Eva LaRue Tippett of Ocala, Fla.; and

Five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Reed H. Dillahunty, will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will follow at Bassett Cemetery.
