James A. Carter

Mr. James A. Carter, 75, of Blytheville passed from this life Monday, June 17, 2013, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Born in Blytheville to James and Lillie Gann Carter, he was a member of North Tenth Street Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and Sunday School Director for many years and owner of James Carter and Son Plumbing Company.

James was a second generation Master Plumber for over 50 years. He was an avid crappie fisherman and loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Branscum, Julia Murry, Geraldine Hinch and Delores Marrow.

James is survived by his wife of 53 years, Annie Maude Gorden Carter, of the home;

Two children, James Allen Carter Jr and wife, Stephanie Darby-Carter, of Blytheville, and Deborah Moody and husband, Glenn, of Dell;

Four grandchildren, Megan Carter, Kelsey Carter, Allison Moody and Carter Moody; and

Two sisters, Betty Guenther and husband, James, of Sherrill, and Shirley Privett and husband, James, of Springdale.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Max Briley and the Rev. Mitchell King Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
