Mrs. Barbara Ann Sims, 73, of Blytheville, passed from this life Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at her home.

Barbara was born in Memphis and was educated in the Blytheville Public School System. After graduation, she received her nursing degree from BMH and her Anesthesia Degree from St. Vincent's Infirmary in Little Rock. She was a Nurse Anesthetist at both Chickasawba and Doctor's Hospital in Blytheville and Head Administrator at Doctor's Hospital. Later Barbara worked for her husband, Dr. Hunter Sims, as his Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. She was an animal enthusiast who had horses, dogs, cats or anything else that happened to wander up. Barbara was a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed golf, swimming, water and snow skiing, fishing and traveling.

Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Lynn Rounsaville, and step-father, Sonny Ledbetter.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Hunter Sims Jr., of the home;

Her mother, Bette Ledbetter of Blytheville;

Her step-children, Emmalyn Smith of Virginia, Peggy Hancock of Germantown, Tenn., and Corlea Burnett of Memphis;

A brother, Mike Ledbetter of Blytheville;

Her nephew, Hunter Glen Rounsaville of Blytheville;

Step-grandchildren, Nate Smith and wife, Kit, Jackson Hancock, Becca Graves, Leah Little and husband, Paul, and Katie Wells and husband, Adam;

Six great-grandchildren;

One great-grandnephew; and

Her beloved caregiver, Shirley Eskins of Blytheville.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Elmwood Cemetery with Dr. Robin Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home. An online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
