Larie Weslie Crouse

Mr. Larie Weslie Crouse, 87, of Manila, passed from this life Sunday, May 19, 2013, at the Manila Nursing Center. Born in Manila, he was the son of the late Charlie and Mary Parker Crouse and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was the former owner and operator of Crouse's Champlin Station in Manila. He was a member of the Manila Masonic Lodge No. 588, the Blackwater Baptist Church, and the Herman Davis American Legion Post No. 197. In addition to his parents, Mr. Crouse was preceded in death by his wife, Vermell Williams Crouse in 2001.

Survivors include one son, Dewayne Crouse of Corning;

One daughter, Debbie Main of Rogers;

One brother, Bernard Crouse of Manila;

Three sisters, Delphia Waddell of Manila, Bernece Ellis of St. Louis, and Delora Brown of Gosnell; and

Seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with the Rev. William Piercy officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Manila Cemetery.
