Ms. Barbara Honeycutt, 71, of Blytheville, died Monday, May 20, 2013, at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro.

She was born in Duncan, the daughter of Joe and Creola Williams Honeycutt. She remembered working very hard as a child in the fields of Mississippi, and moved to Chicago when she was 18 years old. She said that "good fortune and the grace of God were with her." She was employed by Illinois Bell/AmeriTech SBC for more than 30 years. She remarked that the pay and the benefits were good, and she retired in March of 2001.

In Chicago, she was a member of Healing Temple Church.

Blytheville became her home in 2004. After she moved here, she became a member of Christ Temple Baptist Church under the pastorage of Rev. Lawrence Haley. She gave great credit to Rev. Haley as "the pastor who taught her so much." Later, she became a member of New Faith Baptist Church.

Her hobbies were fishing and card playing.

Preceding her in death are her father, Joe Honeycutt in 1951; her mother, Creola Williams in 2012; a brother, Roosevelt Bennifield; sisters Dorothy President and Esther Williams; and her nephews, Elvis and Franklin.

Ms. Honeycutt leaves two daughters, Sidney Honeycutt of Brooklyn Heights and Kimberly (and Troy) Honeycutt-Reeves of Jonesboro;

Two sons, Aubrey Honeycutt of Blytheville and Kevin (and Irvina) Honeycutt of Chicago;

Three sisters, Marie Beasley of Winston-Salem, Earline Honeycutt of Shelby and Maxine Beasley of Cleveland;

Three brothers, Rev. Charles Beasley of Atlanta, Rev. Terry Beasley of Winston-Salem, and Rochester Beasley of Winston-Salem;

A sister-in-law, Louise Beasley of Duncan; and

Fourteen grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family will receive visitors from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the McDonald-Horne Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will begin following the visitation at 2 p.m. The eulogy will be delivered by her brothers. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
