Mrs. Flora Jean Covey, 85, of Tomball, Texas, former Leachville resident and widow of Mr. Norman Covey, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Lawrence Street Health Care Center in Tomball, Texas.

Born IN Cardwell, Mo., she was the daughter of the late O.E. and Addie Langston Malone and had lived most of her life in northeast Arkansas. She lived several years in Blytheville and had worked for S.H. Kress Company and Wade's Five and Dime. Later, she was employed by Phillips Ford Company and retired from the General Insurance Agency. Following her retirement, she returned to Leachville and was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Norman Covey Jr. of Magnolia, Texas;

Two grandchildren, Ben Covey of Spring, Texas, and Carol Barber of Houston, Texas;

Two brothers, Austin Malone of Riverbank, Calif., and Ron Malone of Heber Springs; and

A sister, Mrs. Betty Hatcher of Leachville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with the Rev. David Price officiating. Burial will follow in Leachville Cemetery.
