Kathy Bobo

Mrs. Kathy Bobo, 49, of Blytheville, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. She was born in Blytheville, the daughter of Robert Pollard Sr. and Lula Fair Pollard. Her father preceded her in death.

Kathy was a graduate of Blytheville High School and had attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) and received an Associate Degree from Arkansas Northeastern College.

She worked as a teacher in the Head Start Program of the Mississippi County Economic Opportunity Commission. Her love for the children and a desire to be a "good teacher" was obvious and evident by the love and hugs that her students gave her. She was a dedicated teacher.

Her love of Christ was evident by her faithfulness to her church, West End Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. Many times she was the first one there.

She was married to Rickie Bobo.

Survivors include her husband, Rickie Bobo of the home;

Her daughter, Ricci A. Bobo of the home;

Her mother, Mrs. Lula Burton of Blytheville;

Her sisters, Mrs. Wanda Pollard Jones of Springs, Texas, Mrs. Barbara (and William) Deskins of Greensboro, N.C., and Ms. Martha Pollard of Saint Simons Island, Ga.;

A brother, Robert (and Stacie) Pollard Jr. of Blytheville;

Her sisters and brothers of the Rev. A.L. Burton family, Ms. Luella Jones, Mrs. Alice Williams, Mrs. Viola Robinson, Adam Burton, Oscar Burton, Andrew Burton Jr., Robert Burton; and L.C. Burton

Her in-laws, Junior and Corine Bobo, Mrs. Evelyn Davis, Leroy Bobo, Ronnie Bobo, Michael and Gregory Bobo; and

Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at West End MB Church, West Rose St., Blytheville, with funeral services at noon Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Loving Jesus Ministries, Elm and El Dorado Streets, Blytheville, with Elder Robert Parnell, pastor. The Rev. Andrew Mitchell, eulogist, will officiate. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by McDonald-Horne Funeral Home of Blytheville.
