Richard G. 'Dick' Ramey

Mr. Richard G. "Dick" Ramey, 91, of Blytheville, passed from this life Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Great River Medical Center.

Born in Dyersburg, Tenn., to Freeman and Mary Maude Weaver Ramey, he served in the United States Army Medical Corp during WWII, retired in 1984 after 27 years as a civil service electrician with the Blytheville Air Force Base, was a member of the Blytheville American Legion Post 24 for over 50 years and was a member of the North 10th Street Baptist Church.

Dick enjoyed fishing and dancing and watching the St. Louis Cardinals play baseball. He loved his grandchildren and for several years was a Little League baseball coach.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Marsha Deloris Ramey; a grandson, Jeffery Don Gray; and sisters, Irene, Anne Lois, Francis, Pauline and Lucille.

Dick is survived by his children, JoAnn Gray and husband, Don, Mary Overturf and Fred Ramey and wife, Shirley, all of Blytheville, Erma Mays and husband, Larry, of Van Buren, Ark., and Rick Ramey and wife, JoBeth, of Swafford, Ariz.;

Thirteen grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren; and

Other nieces, nephews and many close friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Lovelace officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday. An online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
