Mr. Jearl Dean Dailey, 82, of Blytheville, passed from this life Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

Born in Smithville, Ark., to James Washington and Ida Jeans Dailey, he was a retired, self employed telecommunications expert for over 50 years and a member of the Dell United Methodist Church.

Jearl graduated from Strawberry High School, served as Justice of the Peace, was a Mason of the Chickasawba No. 134 and Smithville Masonic Lodge for over 40 years, a Shriner, Scottish Rites and served on the Aldersgate Methodist Church Board as a Trustee and the Board of Trustees at Dell Methodist Church. He was active in many church, community and senior citizen projects.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved spending time with his family and friends. Jearl was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and traveling. He was very active and loved being outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years, Nada Harp Dailey; a brother, J.W. Dailey; and a sister, Louise Guthrie.

Jearl is survived by his wife, Mildred "Milly" Long Dailey;

His children, William "Bill" Dailey and wife, Denise, of Grand Canyon, Ariz., Suzan Dailey of Pocahontas, Sara Cavanaugh of Mesa, Aria., and Edith Hepler and husband, Rick, of Mesa, Ariz;

A sister, Imogene Davis of Smithville;

A step-son, Thomas Long and wife, Judy, of Gillette, Ark.;

Thirteen grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; and

Four step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Smithville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob McMillon, the Rev. James Guthrie and the Rev. Marilyn Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Smithville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Cobb Funeral Home. An online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
