James 'J.W' Stout

Mr. James "J.W" Stout, 79, of Blytheville, passed from this life Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at his home.

Born in McCroy to Robert Joe and Lena Frances Summerville Stout, he was retired from the United States Marine Corp. J.W. proudly served his country in the Vietnam War, where he received the Purple Heart with One Star, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Presidential Unit Citation, the Good Conduct Medal with Four Stars, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with Seven Stars, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Rifle Expert Badge.

He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

J.W. was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn McClanahan Stout, of the home;

His children, John Stout and Kevin Stout, both of Blytheville, James Stout of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Elizabeth Ortiz of Oceanside, Calif.;

A brother, Johnnie Stout of Sierra Vista, Ariz.;

A sister, Loretta Rudd of Douglasville, Ga.; and

Five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Elmwood Cemetery with the Rev. Danny Pankey officiating. There will be no visitation. An online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
