Betty Lou Davis Bivens

Mrs. Betty Lou Davis Bivens, 85, of Blytheville, passed from this life Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at her home.

Born in North Little Rock to Cecil Calvin and Lou Margaret Bratton Davis, she was of the Baptist faith. Betty was an owner/entrepreneur of beauty shops, florists and jewelers for 50 years. She graduated from North Little Rock Ole Main High School, and then went on to earn a degree from the Gemology Institute of America. Betty was a member of the National Aviation Society. She enjoyed playing Monopoly and Uno and loved fishing and being outdoors.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Jarrell Bivens; and a brother, Cecil Calvin Davis Jr.

Betty is survived by her children, Karen Kay Tart and husband, Kenny, of Gosnell, Barry Bivens of Blytheville, Larry Bivens and wife, Jackie, of Jonesboro, and Mark Bivens and wife, Jody, of Malvern;

Her grandchildren, Stacey Hines, Josh Tart and wife, Amber, Van Bivens and wife, Beth, Adam Bivens, Amber Bivens, Amy Copeland and husband, Matt, Michael Bivens, Kristie Dalton and husband, Dave, and Mark Anthony Bivens and wife, Carla; and

Seven great-grandchildren, Lauren Hines, Avery Bivens, Chase Dalton, Kaitlin Dalton, Kiersten Dalton, Alexis Bivens and Mark Alan Bivens.

Graveside services will be held at a p.m. Thursday, in Dogwood Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Fulks officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Cobb Funeral Home. An online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
