Rosie M. Saliba

Rosie M. Saliba, 89, of Blytheville, passed into eternal rest Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at her residence.

She was born in Blytheville where she spent her entire life. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and was involved in Women of the Church and Bible Study Group. Ms. Saliba was a retired federal employee, having a long professional career with the United States Selective Service where she led and administered the Northeast Arkansas Region.

She enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing, as well as gardening and reading. She was a loving daughter, sister and adored aunt.

Her faith was her driving force, wanting to live her life for Christ which was clearly evident as she selflessly and generously helped family and friends whenever possible. Her joy and satisfaction came from making others happy and comfortable.

In addition to her parents, Zydan Basheer and Nejmie Ellis Saliba, Ms. Saliba was preceded in death by three sisters, Adebe Saliba, Manera Sims and Bettie Kittany; and three brothers, Richard Saliba, Mitchell Saliba and Elliott Saliba.

Rosie is survived by one sister, Amelia Kahalley of Mobile, Ala.;

Her nieces and nephews, Dee Kittany, Jimmy Kittany, Stephen Kahalley, Gary Saliba, Patricia Hyland, Mary Kittany, Rick Sims, Bill Kahalley, Elizabeth Connolly, BeAnn Taylor, Charles Sims, Peter Kittany, Barbara Kahalley and Melanie Joseph;

As well as many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Blytheville with funeral services immediately following at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice.
