Mrs. Lula Lewis, 89, of Blytheville, entered into rest Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, in Blytheville. She was born June 15, 1923, in Macon, Miss., to William and Emma Brewer Lawson. She was a homemaker and member of New Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Blytheville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fessor Lewis Sr.; a daughter, Mary Ward; a son, Sammie Lewis Sr.; and her parents.

She is survived by her four sons, Fessor (and Jerlean) Lewis Jr. of Blytheville, Glenn (and Marion) Lewis of Burleson, Texas, Charlie (and Patsy) Lewis of Blytheville and Carey Lewis of Hot Springs;

Six daughters, Flossie (and Brian) Beasley of Gary, Ind., Charlene (and Cozean) Hedrick of Blytheville, Coldelia (and William) White of Lawton, Okla., Linda (and Charles) Mathis of Anchorage, Alaska, Beverly (and Ray) Knox of Columbia, S.C., and Shirley Taylor of Forrest City;

One step-daughter, Mary Ree Lewis;

Thirty-one grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; and

Three great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at New Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 515 E. Sawyer Street in Blytheville. A funeral service will be held at 11 am. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at the church. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens in Blytheville. Roller-Swift Funeral Home of Osceola is handling the funeral arrangements.
