Eva Ruth Gunter Goff

Mrs. Eva Ruth Gunter Goff, 92, passed away Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at her home.

Born in Trimble, Tenn., to Alonzo A. and Pansy Terry Gunter Goff, she was 5 years old when she moved to this area. Nanny, as she was called, was an extremely hard worker and a wonderful cook. She loved her church, New Liberty Baptist, and especially enjoyed the fellowship and trips made with the "Jolly 60's."

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Preston Goff; her sisters, Lovie O'Neal and Louise Payne, both of Blytheville; her brothers, Ellis Wayne "Slim" Gunter and Bud Gunter, both of Blytheville; and a grandson, Jason Todd Goff of Byhalia, Miss.

She leaves her daughter, Pamela Gail Maxwell and her husband Jimmy of Blytheville;

Her sons, Larry Preston Goff and his wife Johnnie, and Ronald Gunter Goff and his wife Elaine, all of Blytheville;

Five grandchildren, Chad Maxwell and his wife Candace of Memphis, Lori Hixson and her husband David of Blytheville, Grant Maxwell and his wife Allyson of Paragould, Bryan Goff and his wife April of Blytheville, and Leslie Wells and her husband Kirk of Blytheville; and

Twelve great-grandchildren, Madeline, Cash, Ava, Olivia, Ann Marie, Parker, Carson, Eva, Jack, Cameron, Hannah and Zach.

A special thanks to Dr. Ronny Smith and Lisa for the love and care they gave during her illness. Also, thanks to Calandra Hughes and Charlie Ann McKinney, her caregivers.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Billy Hardesty officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Monday at Cobb Funeral Home.
