Virginia May Griffin

Mrs. Virginia May Griffin, 83, of Luxora, died Friday, July 27, 2012, at her home of heart failure. Born May 24, 1929, in Winfield, Ala., she was a homemaker of the Baptist faith.

Her parents, Henry Wilson and Etma Mae Wilson, both preceded her in death; as did her husband, Linzie Thurman Griffin; a son, Dwight Griffin; and a brother, H.W. Wilson.

She leaves seven daughters, Ella Mae O'Kane, Dorothy Turner, Robin Ennis and Lorene Turner, all of Osceola, Louise Allen of Paragould, Marylyn Reece of Marked Tree, and Virginia Griffin of Florida;

Four sons, Lonzie Griffin of Joiner, Jerry Griffin of Caraway, Julian Griffin of Osceola, and James Eldoh Griffin of Luxora;

Four sisters, Nettie Wilson, Marie Griffin, Donnie Jean Rathburn, all of Florida, and Ella Jean Colson of Missouri;

Five brothers, Carl Wilson, Glen Wilson, Clarence Wilson and Hansel Wilson, all of Orlando, Fla., and Billy Joe Wilson of Osceola; and

Thirty-eight grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola with funeral services at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mississippi County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Jerry Weatherd officiating.
