Mrs. Jessie Mae Fowler, 91, of Oaklawn, died of heart failure Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Metro South Medical Center in Blue Island. Born June 17, 1921, in Horseshoe Lake, she was a homemaker and a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Lee McBride and Luberta Moonie; her husband, Roosevelt Fowler; two daughters, Renee McNeal and Geneva Brown; and one sister, Gladys Jefferson.

Mrs. Fowler leaves two daughters, Evelyn Fowler of Oaklawn and Vera Mae Fowler of Chicago;

Four sons, Roosevelt Fowler Jr., Jimmy Lee Fowler, Elton Fowler and Prince Fowler, all of Turrell;

One brother, Cleo Reed of West Memphis; and

Twenty-seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. John Tate, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Turrell. Burial will follow at Paradise Gardens in Edmondson.
